OBJECTIVES

This is a practical course, looking at how the calculation of profits will change for micro sized companies and unincorporated businesses as a result of using FRS 105 or FRS 102 as the basis of calculation rather than FRSSE.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

All partners and staff involved in the preparation of accounts for audit exempt companies and unincorporated businesses.

TOPICS

This course will revolve around practical examples of how profits calculated in accordance with FRS 105, FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 102 will be different from profits calculated in accordance with FRSSE – and will include:

  1.  Dealing with upfront/arrangement fees relating to loans
  2.  Dealing with changes in interest rates or in the duration of loans
  3.  Accounting for financing transactions
  4.  Identifying and accounting for major inspection costs
  5.  Calculating the cost of stock acquired from overseas suppliers
  6.  Identifying and accounting for onerous contracts
  7.  Accounting for government grants
  8.  How revenue may not now always be recognised as it was under FRSSE
