OBJECTIVES

The course is designed to keep accountants and auditors up to date with changes to the Companies Act 2006 and other relevant legislation.

TOPICS

The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 heralds some of the biggest changes ever for UK companies. Also, in recent years there have been significant changes to the Companies Act 2006 and there is more change to come. This course looks at the more recent changes that have taken place and the practical ways that accountants can help companies comply as well as looking at new proposals. In particular the course will cover:

• Changes at Companies House as part of Companies House reform
• Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 – details on implementation to date and upcoming changes
• Economic Crime Act 2022, as it impacts Companies House

• Practical problems applying the accounts form and content requirements
